Majeed Ashimeru has accepted his omission from Ghana’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and has spoken publicly for the first time since the squad was announced.
Despite his disappointment, Ashimeru has thrown his support behind the Black Stars ahead of their opening match against Panama on Wednesday.
“Let us support the team tomorrow so we can win the game. The first game is very important. We can win the game, one hundred percent,” he said in a video shared on social media.
The RAAL La Louviere player was left out of Ghana’s final squad despite impressing in the friendly match against Mexico.
