Ghana’s men’s 4x100m relay team has secured a historic fourth consecutive qualification for the World Athletics Championships after an impressive performance on Saturday.
Team Ghana finished second behind China in a time of 38.09 seconds, earning the final automatic qualification slot for next year’s championship in Beijing.
The quartet delivered a strong display with Edwin Gadayi moved from the anchor leg to start the race, while national 100m record holder Abdul Rasheed Saminu took over anchoring duties.
Benjamin Azamati and Joseph Paul Amoah completed the team.
The qualification marks another milestone for Ghanaian athletics as the team continues its consistent presence on the world stage.
Attention will now turn to the African Athletics Championships, which will be hosted in Accra in May.
