The Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Shehu Dikko, has confirmed that all outstanding financial entitlements for Super Eagles players and officials have been fully resolved.
The announcement comes after the team threatened to skip training ahead of their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) quarterfinal clash with Algeria, citing unpaid winning bonuses.
On Wednesday, the squad refrained from training and warned that the boycott would continue until the payments were settled.
The Super Eagles are set to travel to Marrakesh today for their quarterfinal match against Algeria at the Ouahat Sidi Brahim Stadium on Saturday, January 10. Kick-off is scheduled for 16:00 GMT.
This is not the first time financial disputes have disrupted the team. Ahead of last year’s CAF World Cup play-offs, players and officials similarly staged a training boycott over unpaid entitlements.
On the field, Nigeria have been in outstanding form, topping their group with nine points after victories over Tanzania, Tunisia, and Uganda.
They then reinforced their title ambitions with a commanding 4–0 win against Mozambique in the Round of 16, securing their spot in the quarterfinals.
