Black Stars head coach Otto Addo says Ghana’s defeat to South Korea came down to the hosts’ sharper finishing in Tuesday morning’s friendly at the Seoul World Cup Stadium.
Ghana held their own for much of the match, but Lee Tae-Seok’s well-taken strike midway through the second half proved decisive.
South Korea nearly doubled their advantage moments later, only for Benjamin Asare to push Hwang Hee-Chang’s penalty to safety.
Reflecting on the performance, Addo said he was encouraged by aspects of his team’s display but admitted the Koreans were more efficient in the key moments.
“They [South Korea] were more clinical with the chances they had. I think we had good ball possession, but also a lot of chances which we couldn’t use," Addo said.
"The difference was that they used their chances even though they missed a penalty. I think the game was kind of even, I think it was good to watch,” he added.
The loss wraps up a disappointing Asian tour for the Black Stars, who also fell 2-0 to Japan last Friday to close out 2025 without a win in their final international fixtures of the year.
