Bechem United have confirmed the appointment of experienced coach Kobina Amissah as their new head coach following the dismissal of Stephen Desmond-Issah Botchway after a disappointing start to the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.
The Hunters have endured a difficult campaign so far, recording just one victory in eight matches, alongside three draws and four defeats — a run that has left them languishing in 16th place on the league table.
Announcing the new appointment, the club said in a statement: “The wait is over! The experienced gaffer KOBINA AMISSAH is now officially at the helm as our Head Coach!.
“Let’s welcome him and get ready for an exciting journey ahead."
Amissah brings a wealth of experience to Bechem, having previously managed several Ghanaian clubs including Home Stars, Bibiani Gold Stars, Samartex, Nzema Kotoko, Elmina Sharks, Berekum Chelsea, Sekondi Hasaacas, and New Edubiase United.
He is also widely respected for his remarkable record of leading multiple sides from the Division One League to the Ghana Premier League, notably guiding Berekum Chelsea (2009), Sekondi Hasaacas (2013), Elmina Sharks (2016), and Bibiani Gold Stars (2021) to top-flight promotion.
His first assignment will come on Sunday, November 9, when Bechem United face Young Apostles in their Week 9 fixture of the Premier League.
