The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a series of planned maintenance works and fault-related disruptions that will result in power outages on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, affecting parts of the Eastern, Tema, Accra East, Accra West, Volta and Ashanti Regions.

In the Eastern Region, maintenance works scheduled from 10:00am to 2:00pm will affect Pikiku, Mame Krobo, Tease, Forifori, Donkorkrom, Amankwah, Asanyansu, Ekye, Adawso, Bruben and surrounding communities.

In the Tema Region, residents in Communities 3 and 5, New York, Switzerland, Aviation, Emef Estates (Lashibi), High Tension, Celebrity Golf Club, Sakumono Estates, Jotafa, Jubail Hospital, Tsopoli, Agortor, Shilo, Luta, Nana Farms, Atlantic Quarries and adjoining areas will experience outages from 10:00am to 4:00pm.

In the Accra East Region, maintenance scheduled from 9:00am to 4:00pm will affect Nanakrom, Little Roses, Akporman, Boi, Seseme, Ashongman, Bank of Ghana and nearby areas.

In the Accra West Region, works from 9:00am to 5:00pm will affect Darkuman, Kokompe, Israel Park, Israel Filling Station, Ayigbe Junction and surrounding communities.

In the Volta Region, planned maintenance from 9:00am to 5:00pm will affect Kopeiya, Nakyikope, parts of Akatsi, Ave Towns, Dzodze and surrounding areas.

The Ashanti Region will also experience multiple maintenance activities. The first, scheduled from 9:00am to 4:00pm, will affect communities including Nerebehi, Adankwame, Kontomire, Asakraka, Mfensi, Mpasatia, Kronum Cement, Heman, Amoaman, Nketia, Asuofua, CONSAR Quarry, Adugyama, Naachia Quarry, Barekese, Abira, Offinso, Namong, Kayera, Tutuase, Nsuotam, Kyerekrom, Boamang, Tetrem, Habitat, Ahenkro, Kwamang, Kodie, Akrofrom, Aduman, Aduamoah, Denase, Pampatia, KCG Company and surrounding areas.

A second Ashanti exercise from 9:00am to 5:00pm will affect Atonsu, Gyinyase, Ahinsan Estates, Kotei, Chirapatre and nearby communities. A third set of works will also impact Oseiakrom, Denyaaifokrom, Kwame Nkwanta, Safokrom, Sumkyreikrom, Omandwareye, Yawhemekrom, Atobrakrom, Siabotare, Kwakukrom, Miawoani, Antoakrom, Bensaso, Mpraniae, Akropong, Mem, Ankam, Odaho and Mpatasie.

Beyond planned maintenance, ECG also reported several fault-related outages.

In the Western Region, a broken high-tension pole at Ankasa has disrupted power supply to Asemkrom, Jema, Boinso, Omanpe, Kwahu, Atokosue, Nkwanta, Enchi Township, Elubo, Nyankamam, Akontonbra, New Yakasi, Old Yakasi, Adjakaa, Achimfo and Abokyia, with engineers working to restore supply.

In the Accra West Region, a technical fault at the Nsawam Primary Station has affected Hebron, Medie, Samsam, Satellite, Koleman and surrounding areas.

In the Ashanti West Region, a transformer fault at the Adum Central Business Centre near Old Melcom has also caused outages in parts of the central business district.

ECG has apologised for the inconvenience and advised residents in planned maintenance areas to make alternative arrangements for power-dependent activities during the scheduled periods.

The company assured that engineers are working to restore supply to fault-affected areas and that power will be fully restored once maintenance works are completed or faults are rectified. Customers have also been urged to report electrical hazards and avoid fallen power lines, which should be treated as live and dangerous.
