SHS teacher allegedly beats female student over unpaid hostel fees

A heated confrontation between a Senior High School teacher and a Form Three female student has sparked public concern after a video of the incident circulated widely on social media.

According to reports, the disagreement stemmed from unpaid hostel fees allegedly owed by the student and some of her colleagues. The teacher, who is said to be serving as the hostel caretaker, had reportedly been demanding payment of the outstanding fees when tensions escalated into a physical altercation.

In the viral video, voices can be heard during the exchange as students express frustration over what they describe as repeated confrontations regarding the unpaid fees. One student is heard pleading with the teacher, saying, "Sir, remove all the Form Three students from the room instead of fighting us every day over money."

The exact sequence of events leading to the clash remains unclear, and it is not yet known whether school authorities had previously intervened to address the fee dispute.

School authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
