Black Queens head coach Kim Lars Björkegren has hailed the unity among the players following their crucial win over Tanzania.
Ghana kicked off their 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) tournament with a 2-0 defeat against South Africa and a 1-1 draw against Mali.
In their final group, the Black Queens secured a 4-1 resounding win against Tanzania on Monday night at the Stade Municipal de Berkane.
The win has propelled the team to play in the quarterfinals of the tournament in Morocco.
Following the win, Björkegren lauded the team's unity on and off the pitch.
“We played as a team, and this has been important for us on and off the pitch," the Swiss gaffer told CAF Media.
Princella Adubea, Alice Kusi, Evelyn Badu, and Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah all found the back of the net to secure a dominant win and seal second place in the group standings.
Ghana will now take on Algeria in the quarterfinals on Saturday, July 19, at the Stade Municipal de Berkane. Kick-off is scheduled for 17:00 GMT.
