'I have not landed GoldBod contract to provide platform for buying and selling gold from banks' — Senyo Hosi

Economic policy analyst Senyo Hosi has dismissed reports circulating on social media that he has secured a government contract to develop a digital platform through which commercial banks would buy and sell gold with the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod).

Mr Hosi described the reports as false, stressing that neither GoldBod nor the government had awarded him or his company any such contract.

“I have not landed any contract to provide a platform for buying and selling gold from banks,” Mr Hosi said in a Facebook post on Monday, August 24, 2026.

“I also did not know that the banks in Ghana supply gold to GoldBod,” he added.

The denial follows the circulation of a social media poster claiming that Mr Hosi had secured a “juicy contract” to provide digital infrastructure linking commercial banks to GoldBod.

Mr Hosi, however, clarified that although the specific contract claim was untrue, his company continues to develop financial and operational technology in Ghana.

“What is true is that my team continues to build world-class financial and operational technology, locally designed and owned,” he said.

He added that his company remained willing to support public institutions whenever opportunities arose.

“We will always be ready to support Ghana's institutions when called upon. For now, I'll take this poster as a prophecy,” Mr Hosi said.
