A mother of four girls in Gomoa Dominase in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region is appealing for justice after alleging that the children were sexually abused by their biological father.

The mother, Antoinette Boakye, alleged that her 44-year-old husband, Emmanuel Ekumfi, abused their four daughters after asking her to leave their matrimonial home following a misunderstanding.

According to Mrs Boakye, she returned home in April to visit the children and was shocked to discover that they had allegedly been sexually abused.

She said the girls, aged 12, 8, 6 and 4, had also sustained injuries and were allegedly threatened with death by their father if they revealed the abuse.

The matter was subsequently reported to the Millennium City District Police Command, leading to the arrest and arraignment of the suspect before the Akweley Magistrate Court in Kasoa.

Mrs Boakye, however, said the prolonged court proceedings had become financially difficult for her, particularly because she currently works in Kumasi and must travel to Kasoa whenever the case is called.

She is therefore appealing to the relevant authorities to intervene, expedite the proceedings and ensure the safety and protection of the children.

She also called for the four girls to be provided with the necessary medical, psychological and other forms of support while investigations and the court process continue.
