Majority Leader in Parliament, Mahama Ayariga has revealed the Sports and Recreation Minister, Kofi Adams will soon initiate talks with SuperSport over a possible coverage of the Ghana Premier League.
The country's topflight is currently without a headline sponsor and official television broadcaster after the Ghana Football Association (GFA) ended their deal with Chinese television paid network, StarTimes.
However, speaking on the floor of Parliament on Wednesday, February 19, Mr Ayariga revealed that the Sports Minister has informed him about his intention to begin talks with the South African television-based network to cover the Ghana Premier League.
“The Minister of Sports and Recreation has revealed to me that he is looking to negotiate with SuperSport and others to begin covering our local leagues,” Mr Ayariga said.
Although StarTimes is reported to have renegotiated a deal to return as broadcaster for the Premier League, nothing concrete has been announced by the Ghana FA.
