Colleagues, Friends And Well-Wishers Celebrate Akin-Lewis 40 Years On Stage In Grand Style

It all went down at Amador Suites, off Sangotedo, Lekki-Epe expressway, Ajah, Lagos on Saturday 23rd, November, 2013 as Total Recall Media Limited puts up a deserving celebration tagged' AKINTOLA AKIN-LEWIS 40 YEARS AS A PROFESSIONAL ON STAGE, RADIO, TV & FILM'.

The event unveiled and launched Abake Lewis Foundation for the Arts (ALFA) and had a display of a docu-film titled 'Who Be Dis Akin Lewis Self”. It was a day where encomium and accolades were showered on the Celebrant.

Owen Gee was on point through-out the event as he had guests cracked up, he was supported by a fellow comedian, Baba De Baba. The hall of the event was filled despite the downpour and distance of the venue, Friends, Colleagues, Well wishers, Government officials all gathered to rejoice and felicitate with legendary actor, Akintola Akin-Lewis.

The roll call of guests includes Hon. Olugbenga Otenuga (Commissioner of Urban and Physical Planning, Ogun State) and Chief Sina Williams, (Special Adviser on Culture and Tourism, Ogun state) who represented the Ogun State Governor, Chief Adeniran Adetoye (Chairman of the occasion), Pastor& Mrs. Raphael Gbolahan, Mrs. Modupe Adetoye, Mrs. Olubunmi Lewis (Sister), Kola Lawal, Demola Okewole, Bolaji Kosoko, Chief and Chief Mrs. A.A Bisi, Goke Olayinka (President Rotary Club of Ikeja), Remi Taiwo, Dr. Gbenga Bello, Captain Akin Attah, Dr. and Dr. Mrs Fasehun etc

Nollywood family that graced the occasion were Chief and Mrs. Dejumo Lewis(veteran actor)Akin Lewis's Cousin, Dr. Sola Fosudo, Anthony Akposere, Victor Olaotan & Kunle Coker (TINSEL Fame), Nonso Odogwu, Victory Emueje a.k.a Otuetue, Bukky Ogunbote, Teco Benson, Yomi Fash Lanso, Brycee Bassey, Louisa Osu, Alhaji Ade Aderenle, Dora Oziegbe etc. The event had melodious tunes delivered by Seyi Micheal and his juju band all through and veteran DJ, Kunle Job did the magic on the wheel to the admiration of the crowd. Black Image Theatre Productions almost stole the show with different performances, they all went freeze up when the Ogun State Governor representative was unveiling ALFA.

The celebrant in a joyous mood stated ' I am overwhelmed by the love shown to me by friends and well wishers, this will only make me strive to get better and at this stage with the launch of ALFA, I intend to have more impact, train and retrain the very best of Nollywood materials who will in turn add value to our industry. I want to thank specially the team of Total Recall Media Limited for putting this together for me and thank my lovely wife, Mrs Olubunmi Akin Lewis and my children for tolerating and supporting me all throughout these years. By the grace of God, as an old wine, I pray I get better and better', he boasted.

Dr Sola Fosudo, a leading Nigerian Actor, and lecturer of Theatre Arts Department in LASU gave an inspiring keynote address while Representative of the governor of Ogun State Chief Sina Williams, (Special Adviser on Culture and Tourism, Ogun state) promised that the state will continue to support the celebrant and Nollywood as a whole. Chairman of the occasion, Chief Adeniran Adetoye who doubles as the Chairman of ALFA foundation extolled the virtues of the Celebrant and promised that the purpose of ALFA which is “to contribute to the moving arts by grooming and polishing talented youths and practising professionals through a finishing school on a continuous basis” will not be defeated under his able leadership.

The highlights of the event were when Obagbohunmi, the daughter of the celebrant read her father's profile to the admiration of the crowd, also, the attendees were full of admiration and enjoyed every bit of the much talked about Total Recall Media Ltd packaged “WHO BE DIS AKIN-LEWIS SEF?”, a docu-film that unveiled the never-heard of Akin-Lewis.

The Chief Operating Officer Total Recall Media Limited who doubles as the Project Coordinator, Mr. Alayande Stephen T. in his words said” the idea is to celebrate one of the Nollywood legendary actor Akintola Akin-Lewis, we thank God for this event, it is our own way of celebrating Nigerian heroes. Enough of celebrating people after their demise, Akin-Lewis is a living legend in the Industry, so he deserve all the accolades and this befitting and a whaooo event?”, he averred.

The event was put together by Total Recall Media Limited and supported by Eagles House Global Resources, AMADOR Suites, Crown Media, several media houses.

Akin-Lewis has been opportune to interpret roles in English, Yoruba and you won't believe it, Bulgarian and French languages! on stage, films and TV series. He has participated in thousands of TV Soaps and films and hundreds of stage plays including Biko's Inquest directed by Wole Soyinka, Dream on Monkey Mountains directed by Carrol Dawnes, The Night Before directed by Bode Sowande, Wedlock of the gods by Zulu Sofola, as well as Moliere directed by Sacho Stoyanov.

Some of his blockbuster movies include Red Hot, Silver Lining, Madam Dearest, Were Alaso, Apere, Osomo, Apayan Eda, Egbinrin, Akun, Amiwo Kan Pere, Obayeje, Alantakun etc. Some of his currently running TV soaps are TINSEL, Spider, The Benjamins, Two Sides of a Coin, where he's as usual in his true element.
