The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Daffiama-Busie-Issa district of the Upper West region has descended heavily on the District Chief Executive (DCE) for the area over what they described as his persistent lies and twisting of facts concerning some development activities in the district.

The NDC in a Press Release issued and signed by Denis Andaban, Communication Officer for Daffiama-Busie-Issa constituency in reaction to a perceived misleading comments made by the DCE, Hon Nadi Imoro Sanda on GTV24 news channel over the US$ 2billion reassigned China Syno-Hydro project for the construction of Wa-Hain-Tumu Highway project and others, accused the DCE of incompetence and lack creativity.

According to the statement, the DCE was captured on GTV24 giving erroneous report that construction work being carried out on Balienia and Bussie roads was initiated by the NPP government.

“For the records, there is no contract awarded by the NPP like "Bussie- Balienia road". The Wa to Hain road was awarded by the erstwhile NDC government, who saw the sense of linking the regional capital to economically viable areas in the Region like Fian, Bussie, Hain and other towns along that road. By the time the NDC left office, Naro, Fian to Bussie stretch of the road had been tarred. This remains a public knowledge”.

“When the NPP came into office, they stopped all construction works then ongoing in the name of value for money audit. That politically motivated action delayed the work on that stretch of the road. It was when people started complaining about the insensitiveness of the government, that it ordered the contractors to resume work at site. It is therefore amazing for a District Chief Executive to send media to that portion of the road (Bussie- Baliania) to claim credit. Baliania is just a stone throw from Bussie.

“We wish to state emphatically that apart from the fact that the road project is a brainchild of the NDC government, it is only an incompetent DCE that would run to take pictures and videos of a central government project just to deceive the public into believing that he is working”.

The statement accused Hon Nadi Imoro Sanda of displaying incompetence and insensitivity by abandoning a collapsed bridge on the Fian- Wogu road, which now serves as a "center of motor accidents under the watch of a DCE who says he is an engineer”.

The NDC who assured that they are going to monitor the DCE closely to ‘expose any dust he throws into the eyes of the people, also challenged him to prove if there is any contract such as Bussie-Balienia project in his records at the assembly.

DAFFIAMA-BUSSIE-ISSA CONSTITUENCY

IMMEDIATE RELEASE

17-12-2018

THE HON DCE FOR DBI MUST STOP THE PUBLIC DECEIT AND SALVAGE THE PEOPLE FROM BAD ROAD NETWORKS

The communication outfit of the National Democratic Party, Daffiama-Bussie-Issa has been monitoring recent media antics the Hon DCE for Daffiama-Bussie-Issa District, Hon Nadi Imoro Sanda uses shamelessly to deceive the public by rapping some veritable facts. We are of the view that he has the opportunity to demonstrate competence for the people of Daffiama-Bussie-Issa to see and not the media funfair he has engaged to throw dust into the eyes of the citizens of Ghana.

To always run to the media to deceive the public especially those outside the district and the Upper West Region is very repugnant. This sort of cheap politics should not come from the DCE of a deprived District with many developmental challenges.

Now, to the substantive mater:

During the weekend, after the celebration of the controversial farmers' day that brought embarrassment to the entire district, after the  political maneuvering that culminated to the award of wrong people, he aggravated our disappointment through an interview with Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, on the completions of  a certain "Bussie- Baliania road"

He sent the media to report on that stretch of road and claimed it as his achievement. We would be very ungrateful to the good people of DBI if we fail to set the records straight on this matter.

For the records, there is no contract awarded by the NPP like "Bussie- Balienia road".

This remains a public knowledge.

When the NPP came into office, they stopped all construction works then ongoing in the name of value for money audit.

We wish to state emphatically that apart from the fact that the road project is a brainchild of the NDC government, it is only an incompetent DCE that would run to take pictures and videos of a central government project just to deceive the public into believing that he is working.

The DCE has displayed his level of incompetence and lack of creativity in the area of roads in particular. The only major road leading to the district capital is the Fian-Wogu-Issa road. Going through that stretch of road is hell!! As we speak, nothing is being done on that stretch of road.

What is even more embarrassing is the fact, that, the DCE has not been able to do anything meaningful about a collapsed bridge on the Fian- Wogu road. That collapsed bridge has become the "center of motor accidents" under the watch of a DCE who says he is an engineer. How can a DCE who fails to work on a collapsed bridge leading to his office, tar a road from Bussie to Balienia? Does it not sound ironic?

Many accidents keep occurring at the broken bridge and some motorists created a "diversion" on their own just to meander through. The DCE has since been meandering through same diversion, ignoring the plight of the people. Any sensitive DCE should have been able to fix that bridge with a sense of urgency but that he has failed woefully.

The DBI district which is an idea of an NDC government had a very resilient foundation that would propel rapid growth and development to compete with some old districts. The District Chief Executive lack of creativity, has added little to the growth of the district. It is comic and largely populist for him to drive to that tarred road which is a brainchild of the NDC to tell the whole world that he is doing something in the area of roads. He should have been showing the main road leading to our district capital. At least, if he is unable to fix our challenges, he should not be hiding our problems by deceiving the pubic in that embarrassing manner.

We entreat the general public to treat his media funfair on the Bussie-Baliania road, with disdain. He has nothing to his credit to boast of. The comic actions are only done as a cover up of his obvious incompetence and discrimination.

We want to serve him a very strong notice that he must desist from the outright, lies and fabrications. Our silence should not be misinterpreted as cowardice. We are very ready to counter every lie from today. Enough of the lies!!

Thank you.

Signed
