MP Advocates For Girl-Child Education In Gomoa Central

Hon. Naana Eyiah Quansah, Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central Constituency in the Central Region has made passionate appeal to parents to encourage their children especially the Girls to attain height in the educational ladder.

Observing the recent Mother's Day Celebration with over 300 mothers and aged at Gomoa Ekwamkrom, Hon. Naana Eyiah Quansah noted that women have become bread winners in the various families across the globe.

She therefore stressed the need for girls to be given access to formal education.

" Women nowadays occupy sensitive leadership positions globally and they are performing brilliantly, so we in Gomoa central constituency cannot be left out in this modern thread.

The old saying that women should be placed at the kitchen or serves as housemaid and housewife's without working are over. It's not acceptable anymore.

Women are working assiduously as religious leaders, politicians, Judges, Ministers of State, Journalist, Entrepreneurs, Police and Military Personnel, and top public and civil servants occupying management positions in various sectors of the economy. These people are serving as role models for our girls and we must take advantage to push our girls forward.

My priority as a Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central Constituency is to ensure that poverty is totally eradicated through education. We all know education is the bedrock for development in every nation and those of us in Gomoa Central Constituency cannot be left out

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo led NPP government through the Free Senior High School (Free SHS) policy seek to ensure that every household produces at least a Senior High School graduate to support nation building"

The Gomoa Central Member of Parliament said her doors were wide opened for the constituents adding she was always at hand to ensure the growth of the constituency.

" As we celebrate Mother's Day, let's understand that we have responsibility of ensuring that we invest in the education of our children to cater for us in the near future.

Am doing my part as Member of Parliament and would like you as mothers to help me and your husbands to invest in educating your children towards the development of Gomoa Central Constituency "

DCE for Gomoa Central, Hon. Benjamin Kojo Otoo commended women in the district for their selfless contributions in the development of Gomoa Central District in particular and Ghana as a whole.

" Today, we are celebrating Mothers because of significant role they play in the society.

Mothers have been economic backbone in our family circle and they deserves to be celebrated in such occasion. I thank our Member of Parliament, Hon. Naana Eyiah Quansah for honouring you in such a manner.

We have to support her in every endeavour so that she achieves her goals towards economic empowerment thus reducing poverty in our district"

The over women were from Gomoa Manso, Osamkrom, Mangoase, Brofoyedur, Jukwa and Ekwamkrom with each receiving a half piece of cloth and assorted drinks to observe the day.

Present were Mr. Joseph Mensah, Gomoa Central NPP 1st Vice Chairman, Presiding Member for Gomoa Member for Gomoa Central District Assembly, Mr. Kweku Nyarko Koomson and Nana Williams who represented Nananom in the Gomoa Ekwamkrom community.
