Police have arrested some delegates at the National Democratic Congress (NDC) constituency elections in Bimbilla for allegedly taking photographs of their ballot papers.
The arrests reportedly sparked agitation at the polling centre as officers moved to prevent delegates from photographing their votes during the exercise.
The incident occurred as delegates cast their ballots to elect constituency executives for the governing party, raising concerns about maintaining calm at the election centre.
A total of 60 aspirants are contesting 17 executive positions in the Bimbilla constituency, where 1,764 delegates are expected to vote.
The polls form part of the NDC's nationwide constituency elections scheduled for October 24 and 25, 2026, across the party's 276 constituencies.
