Is The ABC Of Love Not More Important Than The XYZ?

Although informally done as we do it, that day was the day I formally requested MAG to make time out of her tight schedule to talk to me. We barely knew each other. We had just been introduced to each other by a friend. It was just about two weeks old 'WhatsApp' friendship. I had still not seen her.

To my surprised, she quickly replied; talk "about what, you wanna propose?". As honourable gentleman who is naturally and instinctively willing to impress a lady, this was unexpected one with such a huge magnitude from her. I nearly got disintegrated by her reply.

I held my breath, put myself together and responded as quick as I could. My response was; "This will be an uncultured call from me. We still have an amateur casual acquaintance. In as much as I am hoping for a partner, I do not have to flood you with illogical proposal. You have a dignity as a lady and I respect it. Is the abc of a relationship not important than the xyz?". Trust me, this shook the muscular content of her heart. She had her surprise too. Judging from her next reply, I am sure she got marvelled.

Is the abc of love not important than the xyz? Can the glamorous and sophisticated architectural look of a sky scraper stand the test of time if it was not built on a good foundation?

Relationship is like wealth. Making money can be very easy. Anyone can be chanced with real money at a time in his or her life but the most difficult aspect of it is how to sustain it.

A live love story draws its water from the rich wells of 'pleasant memories'. The sweet times you share together. Love is good and golden. It is the most powerful tool for human sustainability. Where love cannot dwell, no establishment nor future can survive. This was evident in the wisdom of Jesus as He presented 'love' as His only commandment to His disciples. See John 13:30. A person who is shown love is always seen with an envelope of glorious peace around him. This openly shows in the performance of his or her duties at the workplace and in the public. The excitement of being loved attenuates stress and worry. It feels good to love and feels very good to be loved.

Hence we must get love, relationship and its commitment right. Why game play the opposite sex in the name of fun and satisfaction? Do you know that we keep flooding the society with heart broken people because of the eventual disappointment associated with game play of love? We are therefore killing the society we live softly. This is because a person who is full of hatred is the most unproductive in any setting.

How do we get love story right? Love is just abc, its all dead if it gets to xyz. Therefore make quality time to know a person well. Improve beyond acquaintance into friendship. Do not ill intent to hurt, to succeed him or her in bed. Make every day an expression of care, support, forgiveness, mercy, help and happiness for the people around you. With these, the world is sure to be a better place.

As the world prepare to celebrate her festival of love on February 14, I urge you to be wise on how you apply love in your relationship with others especially the opposite sex.
