Best man: Ronaldo buys Greek island as wedding gift for agent

s your best man supposed to give you the best gift for your wedding? For World Player of the Year Cristiano Ronaldo, it's a big yes.

Football super-agent Jorge Mendes got married in Portugal on Sunday. Mendes who has top clients in football including Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho, Radamel Falcao, Angel Di Maria and Cristiano Ronaldo got married to Sandra in front of around 400 guests in the Foz do Douro neighbourhood of Porto.

Ronaldo who was the best man for his agent, Jorge Mendes coughed up between €3 million and €50 million to secure a gift for the groom.

The former Manchester United player bought Mendes a Greek island according to reports in Portuguese newspaper Record.

The report disclosed Greece has decided to sell some of its islands in a bid to help clear up its financial problems.

The exact price and and location of the island Cristaino Ronaldo bought has not yet been revealed.

All the same, with the Greek islands starting from money in the region of €3 million, that ain't a cheap wedding gift. Is it?
