Elder Samuel Marsun, Presiding Elder of PIWC (L) presenting the cheque to Rev. Abayie
SUNYANI branch of Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC) has presented a cheque for GH¢675.00 to the Ghana Police Church in Sunyani, the Brong-Ahafo Regional capital, to renovate its auditorium.
The gesture, which took place on Easter Friday, was a move by the Evangelism Committee of the PIWC to share the gospel with the police community and to also demonstrate the love of God to them.
Receiving the cheque on behalf of the Police Administration, the Brong-Ahafo Regional Chaplain of the Police Church, Chief Superintendent (Rtd.) Rev. Kofi Okodie Abayie, expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the PIWC for the gesture.
Rev. Abayie described the gesture as the first of its kind to be done by a Christian organisation.
He therefore called on the Christian fraternity to come to the aid of the Police Church, which he said is an interdenominational worship centre that serves as a platform for molding the spiritual and moral lives of police personnel.
The Station Officer of the Regional Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) in Sunyani, Chief Inspector Francis Addo, on behalf of the Police Administration, also thanked the Church of Pentecost for supporting the police.
Preaching the sermon during an earlier joint service with a delegation from the PIWC, Elder John Baidoo, an Executive Member of PIWC, noted that the call for Ghanaians to love one another would be fruitless if the people did not have Christ in their lives.
According to him, without Jesus Christ, one cannot love since Jesus is the epitome of love. He stated that what Ghana needs now is Jesus Christ to give the people spotless hearts to demonstrate genuine love to one another.
