
Accra, Feb. 13, GNA - Patrick Ayitey, a fashion designer, who was alleged to have stolen the hand bag of one Paulina Kaiataeva, containing items worth GH¢ 3,720.00 was on Thursday remanded by an Accra Circuit Court.
Patrick was remanded into prison custody by the court, after he has pleaded not guilty to the charges, to reappear before the court on February 26, 2014.
Prosecuting, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) A. Atibila told the court presided over by Mr Francis Obiri that, the complainant is a Russian citizen residing in both Russia and Ghana, while the culprit resides at Kokrobite.
He said on February 4, 2014, at about 2345 hours the complainant was on her way home from work which was very far from her house, Patrick emerged from nowhere and snatched her bag.
The prosecution said the bag contained one Nokia mobile phone, a bunch of keys, a Lenovo laptop, credit card, flash drive, USB Modem and an amount of GH¢550.00.
He told the court that on February 5, Patrick was arrested when Paulina led the police to his hideout and identified him as the one who snatched her bag.
