Security agencies asked to take note of signs

Yendi (NR) Aug, 19, GNA - Security agencies and peace builders have been asked to take note of  any early signs that can lead to misunderstanding, provocation and conflict as Ghana awaits the verdict of the Supreme Court on the 2012 Election petition, on 29th August, 2013.

 
Most Reverend Vincent Sowah Boi-Nai, Catholic Bishop of Yendi, made the call at a workshop on peace, organized by the Yendi Catholic Diocesan Women in Peace Building, a Christian group, at Yendi. 

 
He appealed to women and children to support peace initiatives because they suffer most in the event of conflict and violence.

 
Bishop Boi-Nai also advised women in particular to influence their husbands, children and the public to maintain peace currently being enjoyed by Ghanaians. 

 
He said the Women in Peace Building would work with non-Christian groups in promoting peace.

 
The Director of the Demango Centre for Conflict Transformation and Peace Studies (CECOTAPS), the Reverend Father  Lazarus Annyereh, said CECOTAPS has donated Gh¢ 7, 500.00 to Yendi Diocesan Satellite Centre for the purchase of three motorbikes for women working to bring peace to the area.

 
He commended the peace builders in the area for mobilizing the youth to promote peace.
