Free Education For 200 Children Of Ashaiman Full Gospel Church

The Full Gospel Church International (FGCI) has celebrated its 35 years of existence with the introduction of a child development programme that would provide 200 needy children in the church with free education from kindergarten to the university level.

The programme which is in partnership with Compassion International, an NGO, will benefit children drawn from three branches of the Full Gospel Church, including the Ashiaman branch.

The church also has plans to extend the programme to the Eastern Region to benefit needy children in poor communities to help educate the children.

The President of the Full Gospel Church International, Reverend Samuel Noi Mensah, disclosed this when he launched a reach out project of one million membership to celebrate the 35 years of the church.

He said the FGCI had moved from being a ministry to an international status, with 50 branches across the country that nurtured over 2000 pastors.

Rev. Mensah said the church also had a credit union that had helped to improved the lives of church members by providing loan facilities for them.

He noted that it was the objective of the church to train and educate workers and pastors of the church to equip them to work in the rural areas to plant new churches to help build a just and Christian society in Ghana.

Rev. Mensah said by adopting 'a plead strategy,' the pastors would be expected to plant churches wherever they went, evangelise to all people, affect the society and ensure discipline.

He was of the view that the youth held the future of the nation and must be disciplined to attain heights.

He placed emphasis on discipline and was optimistic that with intensified evangelisation, the word of God will transform souls to build a just society for Ghana.

Rev. Mensah said the church had lined up health screening activities, blood donation, education and other interesting packages for the month-long celebration.

The FGCI will make donations to the SOS Childrens Village.

As part of the programme, the church will launch a breast cancer awareness and a clean-up campaign to ensure cleanliness in the metropolis.
