
Accra, Feb. 12, GNA - Vodafone Ghana is offering 60 days free internet service for all who purchase BlackBerry's new flagship device with a new operating system, BB z10, which the company (Vodafone) proved its leadership in innovation by launching the device first in Ghana.
Vodafone launched the BlackBerry (BB) Z10 in Ghana, a week after its global launch, to excite the fans of the BlackBerry and allows the network's customers to be the first to own the latest handset which has created consumer frenzy all over the world.
Head of Terminals at Vodafone Ghana, Ebenezer Ampadu said, 'The new handset now has enhanced a lot of BB features, for instance the BB Messenger that is used to transmit only text message and pictures can now do video and voice calls and screen share.'
'The camera on the handset now is way ahead of the rest because you can put it in time shift mode and whenever you take a picture of a group if one person has his or her eyes closed, the BB z10 camera allows you open the person's eyes,' he said.
He said Vodafone was offering its customers, who buy BB z10 with free 1.5 GB of data, which averagely can last a person for 60 days.
The new BlackBerry Z10 is a complete re-design from the traditional 'BB' and introduces new user-friendly features. Users do not have to subscribe to the BlackBerry service before experiencing the full capabilities of the handset.
Another innovative feature is the 'BlackBerry Hub', where users can customize their handset to their favourite applications on one page and the enhanced security features also makes the 'BB Z10' an invaluable business tool.
The new BB z10 is currently going for GH¢1,999.00 in Vodafone retail shops.
Uche Ofodile, Chief marketing Officer Vodafone Ghana, said the company was committed to bringing the most innovative devices to their customers, adding 'We know our customers are driven by innovation and like to set the pace for others to follow.'
'They expected Vodafone to be the first to deliver one of the most sought after handsets in the world and we have not disappointed. I have seen the handset and can say that our customers will not be disappointed,' the statement stated.
