
The Electoral Commission (EC) accepted the nominations of 1,332 candidates to contest the December 7 parliamentary election when nominations closed, but some candidates have since pulled out.
According to statistics from the EC, 1,198 candidates are men while 134 are women.
Upper West Region has the lowest number of women candidates with only five of them being nominated while Greater Accra has the highest number of women with 34.
Ashanti Region has the highest number of candidates at 228 while Upper West has the lowest at 60 candidates.
Ashanti Region has the highest number of constituencies at 47 while the Upper West has the least at 11.
