Police inadequate logistics our concern-Bank of Africa

Accra, Aug, 31, GNA - Mr. Festus Kwofie, Executive Head, Financial Control and Systems, Bank of Africa, on Friday said, the bank as part of its corporate social responsibility, is supporting the Ghana Police deal with inadequate logistics.

He said the “serve and protect” oath between the Police and citizenry of Ghana should be two-way, and Bank of Africa is pleased to serve the Police by helping to protect them from unsatisfactory working conditions.”

He revealed this when the bank donated 50 bags of cement towards the refurbishment of offices at the Madina Police Station.

Presenting the items, Mr. Kwofie said it is easy to blame the Police for being self-serving instead of serving the citizenry while sweeping the real issues of inadequate logistics under the carpet.

The Police, according to him, do not receive enough credit for the work they do and urged them to continue their good works.

Receiving the items, the Madina Police Commander, Chief Superintendent of Police Anderson Fosu Ackaah expressed gratitude to Bank of Africa for its support.

He said the expansion project started last year, but had been stalled due to lack of funds. He articulated how the donation will help complete the project to upgrade their facilities, which will result in immensely affecting their work-delivery positively to provide better services to the citizenry.

Chief Superintendent of Police, Anderson Fosu Ackaah, said the Police will continue in their efforts to protect life and property, preserve peace, enforce laws and fight crime in the country so that people can go about their duties without fear.

He commended Bank of Africa for its kind gesture and urged other corporate organisations, churches and philanthropists to emulate the Bank.

The presentation was made by Mr. Festus Kwofie the Executive Head, Financial Control and Systems; Mr. Kofi Fumey, Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications; and Mr. Frank Ampofo, Madina Branch Manager of Bank of Africa.
