Asante-Mampong (Ash), Aug. 19, GNA – The Asante Mampong Municipal Assembly has presented 80 maxi-bags of sugar and 40 maxi bags of rice worth GH¢9,200 to Muslims at Atanafo and Ahenbronum in the Kofiase community.
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mr Daniel Appau Ohyiaman made this known after he had joined them in an open air prayers to end their 30 days of fasting.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), he said the Assembly has constructed six classrooms for the Abdulai Islamic Primary School and Damascus Kindergarten at Kofiase.
It has also provided four teak poles for the extension of electricity in the area.
The MCE appealed to the Muslims to ensure sustained peace and good neighbourliness in the area.
The Imam of Atanafo, Seidu Abdulai expressed his gratitude for the gift and pledged to work hard towards peace in the area during the electioneering campaign and after the polls.
