Takoradi, Aug. 10, GNA – Right Reverend Edward Ofori Donkor, Bishop of the Sekondi Diocese of the Methodist Church of Ghana, on Friday appealed to Ghanaians to emulate the humility the late President John Evans Atta Mills showed.
He said the late President was an epitome of peace and called on Ghanaians to serve one another selflessly and show genuine love devoid of any selfish or parochial interest.
Right Reverend Donkor said this at a service organized by the Sekondi/Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly in honour of the late President at Takoradi.
The ceremony brought together Ghanaians from across the political divide, the old and the young, the clergy, traditional leaders, the security services.
He said as a man who stood for peace, the nation must remain united to ensure that the development path the late President chartered is achieved.
Captain Anthony Cudjoe (RTD), Metropolitan Chief Executive, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the legacy left by the late President placed a huge responsibility on Ghanaians to maintain the standard.
He said the late President was a symbol of excellence in leadership and human relationship, adding, “His life from social to politics is worth emulating”.
