Kpone, April 25, GNA -- Sunon Asogli Power (Ghana) Limited would soon start work on a 360 million-dollar power plant and it would take about one year to complete it.
On completion, the company's supply will increase from 200 megawatts to 560 megawatts.
Mr. Li Xiao Hai, Chairman of the Company, said this when the Acting Managing Director of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) and some officials of ECG paid a working visit to the company.
Togbe Afede XIV commended ECG for its co-operation and support and said without the collaboration, the first phase of the project which was completed in 2008, could not have come to fruition.
Mr. William Hutton-Mensah, the Managing Director of ECG, said SAP's important role in the energy sector could not be over-emphasised and expressed the hope the mutual and cordial relationships between the two companies would be further strengthened in the years ahead.
SAP is a joint venture between Shenzhen Energy and the China Africa Development Fund.
