Kumasi, March 19, GNA – Mr Kwame Asante, the Ashanti Regional Manager of the Ghana Red Cross Society (GRCS), has encouraged the youth to show positive inclination towards volunteerism and humanitarian services.
He said they should take pride in providing service to other people, especially those in need.
He said this when inaugurating a branch of the society at the Tafo/Nhyiaeso Saint Benedict Roman Catholic basic school in Kumasi.
The new branch has 50 members who have been trained in basic first aid skills as well as laws and regulations of the GRSC.
Mr Asante urged them to become good examples to their colleagues and to use the skills acquired for the benefit of their communities adding that they should be self-disciplined and resist bad foreign cultural influences.
Mr Felix Asrachie Baidoo, the GRCS Regional Public Relations Officer, advised them to avoid any activities that would dent the image of the society and called for public support to enable them train more Ghanaians in first aid.
