Gomoa Mozano (C/R), July 31, GNA- The General Head of Musama Disco Christo Church (MDCC), Prophet Miritaiah Jonah Jehu-Appiah, who spent seven days in prison for contempt of court, has appealed to the government to expedite action on improving facilities in the prisons.
He said improving facilities would help reform the inmates. Prophet Jehu-Appiah, who was speaking to newsmen, mentioned the deplorable conditions in the prisons and said the conditions would rather harden prisoners.
''Prison should not serve as a punishment place but it should be a place that can change lifestyles'', he said. Prophet Jehu-Appiah said there was the need for churches and social organisations to help the government to reform the prisons.
