Akrofu-Xeviwofe (V/R), July 31, GNA- Twenty computers and eight printers with accessories worth 100 million cedis, donated by Computer Aid International (CAI), a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) in the United Kingdom (UK), were presented to the Akrofu-Xeviwofe community on Tuesday.
The donation was from CAI and Goodwill Development Foundation (GDF), a local community-based NGO, with support from Mama Yaa Bosio, a Queen mother of the area, resident in the UK. Mr Mawutor Goh, Ho District Chief Executive (DCE) presented the items on behalf of CAI and said the computers would assist in child development programmes of the community. He commended NGOs in complementing government's efforts in providing teaching materials to deprived areas. Togbe Kofi Dei, regent of the area received the computers on behalf of the community and thanked the donors the gesture.
