Like Continental Afrika, Diaspora Afrika is also suffering from chronic Foreign name crisis.

For 400 years, slavery/colonialism has succeeded in robbing most if not all Diaspora Afrikans of their Afrikan Ancestral names.

Like in Continental Afrika, they were told there is something basically wrong with their Continental Afrikan names.

They were programmed into believing that having Continental Afrikan names is wrong.

It is a sign of inferiority. It is ridiculous. It is awkward. It is not modern. It is anti-civilization.

That is, no "civilized" and "modern" people worth the name can and should bear Continental Afrikan names.

"White" names, on the other hand, were imposed on them as the only alternative.

The only savior. The only way to escape their "barbaric" Continental Afrikan names.

With the tragic results that 99% of Diaspora Afrikans especally in USA have been turned into the only people on earth who do not bear their own Ancestral Afrikan Names but the names of their slave/colonial masters they now call their names but which are not their names but Foreign and Alien to their Continental Afrikan Names of their Afrikan Ancestors they have been uprooted from .

That is why about 98 percent of Diaspora Afrikans in USA, Europe and West Indies see nothing wrong , insulting or destructive to their Afrikan Psyche and Psychology for turning themselves and their children into Slaves of and to the names of their Slave/Colonial Masters they have no clue about and will deny it with all their might as incorrect or racist for anybody to think so .

Simply because to some, that is all they have or know .

To others there is nothing they can do about it.
To the rest, it does not matter what names they are called which is not true , otherwise if you call them dog or devil or even the taboo N word, they will not like it .

Which means, yes it matters what names we call ourselves , otherwise we will not have all French people bearing French names or all Chinese bearing not French but Chinese names or all the Russians bear not German names but Russian names or the Arabs, the Jews, the Germans, the Italians, the Japanese, etc bearing their own Ancestral Names that make them unique, different and affirm their Identity , Presence and Place at the Table of Humanity .

But beyond all the above slave/colonial mentality rationalizing and excuses to justify what cannot be justified, lies the confused soul of nameless Continental Afrikans groaning daily under the mountain of imposed foreign names - in USA, Europe, the Islands and all over the Continent of Afrika ..

Our desire to be "White" in USA has become so acute and destructive that we see nothing basically wrong in honouring the very names of our slave master who have reduced our humanity into objects to be sold, bought and used as they please.

By bearing our slave masters' names up till now, we are proclaiming to ourselves daily that we still belong and are still owned by the people whose names we bear.

We are still their properties. We are still their invisible slaves by their Slave Masters names we still bear and are proud of and call our names in our self-ignorance .

Just as a dog or a cat has no say in who names it or what name it is given or it bears, by our continuous bearing of slave/colonial names that have been imposed upon us, we reduce ourselves to the levels of dogs and cats. We are telling

Our "White" masters with our imposed "White" name we are their dogs and cats to be named by them.

We are justifying in this way, why they must name us "White" in the first place.

Our continuous shameless clinging on to our slave/colonial names in favour of our forgotten names also means we acknowledged the painful fact that we are still suffering from slave/colonial lies that we are not intelligent of human being enough to name ourselves by our own created names based on our own culture, customs, traditions and values.

By our slave names, we also tell our "White" slave/colonial masters that they were right in giving us their names.

That we love their names so much. We are honored by them. We are grateful for ever for them.

Without our slave names so we tell out "White" masters, we will be nothing. And that we do not have the power, gut, courage and freedom to set ourselves free from slave/colonial names that exist to dehumanize and defame our sacred Continental Afrikan names.
