OUR CONTAFRIKANAME UNDER ATTACK or THE CRISIS OF PROGRAMMING TODAY'S CONTAFRIKANS TO PREFER SLAVE/COLO NAMES TO THEIR AUTHENTIC CONTINENTAL AFRIKANAME,
By (c) 2012 by Prof. Afrikadzata Deku, Docteur d'Etat; Doctorat d'Etat (PhD); [email protected] ,
Another form of crisis facing the Continental AfrikaWorld is AfrikaName Crisis.
That is, the tragedy of today's Foreignized Continental/Diaspora Afrikans 's loss or losing of The Power and dignity to name themselves the CONTINENTAL AFRIKAWAY as we used to do in our Ancient, Traditional , pre-slavery and pre-colonial World .
Elementary though this might sound, one's ability to give oneself one's own name according to one's culture is not only a natural process but the most logical thing to do.
That is why all over the world, Arabs bear Arab names, Jews are called by Jewish names, Japanese bear Japanese names, the Chinese have Chinese names, the French have French names, the English have English names, etc. and will never under any circumstances get rid of , replace, exchange with any Foreign names .
In this way a Jew is known by his/her Jewish name. Just by listening to one's names, one will be able to tell where the person comes from.
The right for all groups of the Human Family to name themselves after themselves is considered an act of civilization, intelligence and freedom.
The only beings on earth who cannot exercise their basic rights to their own names are animals, plants and things.
That is why we find it natural to own and name cats, dogs, etc. after our names or as we please.
Because we do not believe they are intelligent enough to give themselves their own names .
And yet when it comes to our today's Continental/Diaspora Afrikans/Islanders, we are lied to over and over that it does not matter what name we bear, that our Afrikan Names are not important or we can never be whole or civilized or developed or modernized or accepted by those whose Names we bear as their equals unless we bear in full or in part Arab, Foreign and Jewish names which is nothing but a big LIE we have accepted blindly .
And yet the Arabs, the Jews and the Foreign people whose names we have become dependent on, addicted to and enslaved by WILL NEVER BEAR OR NAME THEMSELVES OR THEIR CHILDREN AFTER US AFRIKANS they still consider secretly inferior to them .
That is why they see nothing wrong in Afrikans bearing their names and while they bear not Afrikan Names but their own Arab, Foreign and Jewish names .
In this way, 99% of our today's pro-Foreign and Anti-Afrikan Continental/Diaspora Afrikans have lost or are losing their Three Million Year Old Right, Power, Ability, Pride and Dignity to honor, empower and connect themselves to their Glorious Continental Afrikan Ancestral Name, Power, Heritage, Root , Identity, Pride, Dignity and Oneness
Hundred years of slave/colonial/neocolonial programming and brainwashing have deprived Continental Afrikans of their power and ability to give themselves Continental Afrikan names and they see nothing wrong with that .
Instead, the Bulk of our so-called “ Educated” Continental/Diaspora Afrikans/Islanders, sit idly and unconcerned about the psychological damages we are unconsciously inflicting on ourselves by more and more replacing the Heaven of our Continental AfrikaNames with their Hell of bearing Foreign names of people who don't give a damn about us as one AfrikaRace or People .
As far as slave/colonial masters and their puppets are concerned , Continental Afrikan names are no names.
They are simply "barbaric" and "uncouth."
The faster Continental Afrikans abandon them for more "civilized" and "modern" "White" names, the better it will be for them.
So to Christianity fell the colonial responsibility of discrediting our sacred Continental Afrikan names.
"Holy" and "sacred" names are then given in the place of our Continental AfrikaNames are then given in the place of our Continental AfrikaNames.
Hence, throughout Continental Afrika today, majority of Continental Afrikans believe and accept as truth the colonial lie that foreign/alien/Western/"White" names are better than and superior to Continental AfrikaNames.
In fact to many, life is incomplete until they are given or give themselves foreign names.
For today's Foreignized Continental Afrikan, to be called "John, Mary, Christian" etc. is to be considered a great honour and an act of redemption and symbolized by the change in name from what the missionaries call "pagan" names and lives to their “holy and new Christian names and lives “
In other words, the Continental Afrikan, as far as his/her colonial masters are concerned, is too dumb and incapable of naming himself/herself intelligently.
Hence, the need on the part of foreigners to teach the Continental Afrikan how to name himself/her by names selected for him/her.
So, any time we are called by a "Western or colonial or Christian " name, what we are consciously or unconsciously telling our colonial masters whose names we bear is that it is true that we are not intelligent enough to name ourselves.
Our foreign names also give credit to our colonial masters for a job well done in Continental Afrika.
Hence, a Continental Afrikan bearing a foreign name in whole or in part, is suffering from colonial conditioning for believing the colonial lie that he/she has to be called by a Western/Colonial/Christian/Foreign name to become "Whole," "civilized," "modern."
No matter the rationalization or excuses, the fact remains that preferring "Western/Christian " name to one's Continental AfrikaName is not a sign of progress or change but a symptom of bigger crisis of inferiority complex.
For being called John instead of Dzata or Kofi or Aku or Chaka or Ama etc is not by accident.
Even if it is, as adults we have all the time and freedom to change it. No more excuse like that is what my parents gave me or it does not matter or it is none of your business which can only come from a self-ignorant minds who cannot or will not see beyond their slave/colonial/neocolonial noses.
But we don't because we believe John is better or more refined than Dzata. All because one is foreign and the other is Continental Afrika.
As adults, we have every right to change our Foreign, colonial/slave names given to us by our Parents to our AfrikaName that connects us to the Limitless Power, Pride and Dignity of our Continental AfrikaName, Root, Identity, Heritage which none of our today's meaningless and mechanical Colonial names can give us .
But most adults with Foreign Names never change them or see the need to change them because to them, it does not matter what names one has.
And yet they will not respond or accept names such as "dog," "thief," "murderer," "traitor."
That means, names matter and are important.
That is why in our Ancient/Traditional Continental Afrika, our Continental AfrikaNname is everything.
It is the summary of one's life. Hence the more you are called by your AfrikaName, the more you are reminded of your Mission on earth and why you must strive to fulfill it for the benefit of all
It tells you why you are here, where you came from and where you will go from here.
That is why all Continental Afrikan names in both ancient and traditional Continental Afrika have specific meanings.
Hence , Continental Afrikans do not take name for naming sake.
A person with a meaningless name is a dead person, a person without a purpose, no direction, no aim in life.
Consequently, Continental Afrikans have been given foreign names in order to de- Afrikanize them and to keep us ignorant of The Power and importance of bearing our AfrikaNames .
Foreign names make our AfrikaLife meaningless for Continental Afrikans because most of them do not mean anything to us a people.
Foreign names also deprive Continental Afrikans of their fundamental rights to have and be proud of their Continental Afrikan names.
They also deprive Continental Afrikans of The Power to enrich their names with meaningful Continental Afrikan names that are purposely given to us to remind us of who we are and what we want to be in life.
Hence, Continental Afrikan names are power. They provide us with the direction energy and positive message, motivation, faith, vision etc. we need to live up to our Continental Afrikan names.
With foreign names, we are deprived of a Continental AfrikaFocus in life because they do not give us the Continental AfrikaIdentity, Direction, Guidance, Reminder and the Motivation we need to be Continental Afrikans from Head to Toe .
We cannot live up to our foreign names because very often, they are meaningless, vague, obsolete or far-fetched to our culture.
We do not relate to foreign names because they do not relate to us. They glorify and sign praises to very slave/colonial/neocolonial powers who have conquered, dominated, controlled, bought, sold and used as they see fit for their own benefit
And as such we do not benefit from them the way we benefit from our Continental Afrikan names.
In this way, having Continental Afrikan names indicate knowledge, acceptance, love and pride in oneself and in one's Continental Afrikaness.
This explains why in spite of the pressures on today's Continental Afrikans to change their names into "White," it is heartening to know that the entire traditional part of Continental Afrika (which constitutes not less than three-quarters of the total Continental Afrikan population) has few or no foreign names at all.
Traditional Continental Afrikan names outnumber in this way foreign names by 3 to 1.
Even in the remaining part of Continental Afrika heavily under Foreign control, Continental Afrikans there are beginning to go back to their Continental Afrikan names as a sign of cultural awakening and liberation.
In the name of Continental Afrikan consciousness and pride, Francis Nkrumah became Kwame Nkrumah.
Generals Mobutu and Eyadema, in spite of their political failures, made cultural history be abolishing the official and private use of foreign names by Continental Afrikans.
In that regard, Zaire and Togo are the few but proud Afrikan countries where no foreign names are allowed to reign supreme over our proud and sacred Continental Afrikan names.
This means, at least in Continental Afrika, it is possible for Continental Afrikans to have and be proud of their Continental Afrikan names.
So too the remaining few in Continental Afrika who still cling on to the relics of their colonial names to be accepted and acceptable human beings, it is a matter of time for them to see the light.
But as soon as they are gone, their people proudly in self-ignorance went back to the insult and curse of bearing Foreign names instead of their Afrikan Names they consider freedom to bear any names they want and that their leaders have no right to tell them what names to bear or not bear .
