Odumase-Krobo (E/R), Dec. 5, GNA - The Konor of Manya Krobo, Nene Sakite II, has called on the clergy to learn the Krobo culture well to be able to blend it with the gospel to reach out to the average people on the street.
He explained that, his ancestors established the Anglican Church in Odumase despite the fact that they were Presbyterians.
It was because of their belief that the blending of the various religious teachings enriched the Krobo culture and help in the development of the people.
Nene Sakite was speaking at the 80th anniversary thanksgiving service of the Anglican Church of Transfiguration at Odumase on Sunday.
He expressed the appreciation of the Manya Krobo Traditional Council to the decision of the church to establish a Senior High School at Odumase-Krobo to provide opportunity for the youth to continue their education after the basic level as part of the anniversary.
The Odumase Anglican Church of Transfiguration was established by Sir Emmanuel Mate Korle, then Konor of the Manya Krobo Traditional Area 80 years ago and made two of his wives to be baptized by the church to become founding members when he himself was a Presbyterian.
Earlier in a sermon, Right Reverend Daniel S. Allotey, Anglican Bishop of Cape Coast, regretted that all Christians often came together to pray for peace and unity but during politics, some Christians make pronouncements that turned to divide the people and crate unnecessary tension.
He called on Ghanaians to learn to share whatever they had with others for them to continue to be blessed with more.
As part of the anniversary, the Parish priest and Archdeacon of the Odumase Archdeaconry of the Church, Venerable Samuel Benjamin Nii Moi Addo announced the adoption of the Children's ward of Atua Government Hospital by the church as part of activities to mark the 80th anniversary.
