Former presidential staffer Dennis Miracles Aboagye has accused Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson of concentrating too much power within the Finance Ministry.
Speaking on Joy News’ AM Show, he claimed several government officials are unhappy with decisions being taken by the ministry.
According to Aboagye, agencies and responsibilities that traditionally fell under other ministries are gradually being shifted to the Finance Ministry.
“The finance minister is sweeping certain agencies into his ministry and he wants to control everything,” he alleged.
He cited institutions such as SSNIT and programmes linked to the World Bank as examples of areas he believes have become increasingly controlled by the Finance Ministry.
“Ministers are not happy,” he added.
Aboagye argued that the latest disagreement with the Agriculture Ministry is part of a broader struggle over influence and control within government.
