The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a planned power outage in several communities within the Accra East Region on Wednesday, June 10.
The interruption is expected to affect residents and businesses for eight hours as the company undertakes maintenance works aimed at improving service delivery.
The exercise forms part of ECG's routine efforts to enhance the reliability and efficiency of electricity supply in the affected areas.
"ECG will undertake planned maintenance works to improve service delivery. This will result in a temporary outage," the power distribution company said in a public notice issued on Monday, June 8.
According to the notice, the maintenance works will take place between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
The affected communities include Doblo, Satellite, Sarpeiman, Medie, Kotoku, Pobiman, Blue Skies, Hebron, Ahodwo, Fotobi, Pakrom, Obudan, Kwasikrom and surrounding areas.
The company urged customers in the affected communities to make the necessary arrangements ahead of the scheduled maintenance.
"ECG regrets the inconvenience that will arise out of this exercise," the notice added.
The Electricity Company of Ghana has in recent months carried out similar planned maintenance exercises across parts of the country as part of efforts to strengthen the power distribution network and improve electricity service delivery.
