CHRIS AKUMEY’S STATEMENT WAS JUST FOR LAUGHS

CHRIS AKUMEYS STATEMENT WAS JUST FOR LAUGHS
30.11.2011 LISTEN

A guy in Toronto decided to go on a walk one fine evening. He was not aware that his dog was following him so he never thought of putting a flat color or choker chain on and walks the dog.

In developed countries such as Canada, you pick the poop after the dog but he was not aware the dog was following him so he never cared about picking any poop after any dog on his walk.

Not knowing to this guy, some media guys have laid ambush and screwed a wooden stuff which looked like dog poop of somewhere on the route to capture scenes for broadcast on their programme dub,” just for laughs”.

When he got to the point, a nice young guy posing like a police officer drawn his attention to the poop and gave him a bloom and a dust collector to pick what looked like a poop of the dog.

This guy struggled to collect the poop and after fifteen minutes without able to move the stuff with the broom, knelt down to smell it and see whether it was truly a dog poop.

Then, other crew members appeared and showed him the camera indicating that he was tricked to create scenes for their show “just for laughs”. That is beside the point.

“Na oketre kodi nemeko ma aponkyerene nso te ho fefre sen ne” to wit how can a complainant be punished for a crime committed by someone else?

The president during his visit to Ottawa warned that violence and bloodshed does not have a place in the country and he received a round of applause for that.

Days after that statement, his spokesman Koku Anyidoho's, threatening statement daring the presidential candidate of the NPP, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufu Addo, not to force himself to power or he will show him where power lies was made public.

As usual, peace loving Ghanaians condemned the statement which made Koku Anyidoho, to withdraw the statement and apologized respectfully.

Then unexpectedly lawyer Chris Akumey, came onto the scene trying to smell the poop which has already been cleared by Koku Anyidoho by saying,”Koku Anyidoho, does not owe any body an apology”.

Can you imagine someone creating a mess for himself and after cleaning someone coming in to insist that whoever created the mess shouldn't have cleaned up?

This demonstrates arrogance and hypocrisy which should not to be encouraged in our body politics at all. Is it not the same NDC which is pointing accuser fingers at the NPP for making “all-die-be-die” statement claiming such statement was causing fear and panic in the country?

If the presidential spokesman has come out to apologize for making such statement and Ghanaians have forgiven him, does it take another person to come after him and create confusion by making another dangerous statement?

The NDC party has council of elders who advices party executives and ordinary members as to what to do to maintain peace and order as an institution in the country.

Since the party came to power in January, 20009, so much dirty water has passed under the bridge and it is time these executive bodies ensure that things are done in a right way especially avoiding unwanted statements that can ignite fire in the country.

Stating clearly without fear no favour, I will like to say that Lawyer Chris Akumey, shouldn't have come after Koku Anyidoho to muddy the clean water, otherwise let us take his statement just for laughs. PERIOD.
