Ledzokuku MCE sued by Gospel Light Church over land

The Ledzokuku Krowor Municipal Assembly and the Municipal Chief Executive, Daniel Amartey-Mensah, have been summoned to appear in court this week over a land dispute with the Gospel Light Church.

LEKMA and the church have been claiming ownership to a parcel of land on the Nungua Beach Road.

The church says it acquired the property from the chief of the area for the construction of a temple, but the municipal authorities say the land has been earmarked for a cemetery.

Municipal Chief Executive, Daniel Amartey-Mensah has threatened to demolish any structure the church puts up.

He says the assembly is also ready to go to court to defend its stance.

He told Joy News he and the assembly were served with court processes and they have eight days to file their response.

Mr Amartey-Mensah said the assembly's lawyers were preparing a defence and described the development as unfortunate.
