The Member of Parliament (MP) for Sene, Alex Twumasi Appiah, has offered to refund the money he is alleged to have fraudulently received.
The MP has been in the news this week for defrauding a Spanish businessman, Juan Francisco Lozano, of about $30,000.
He and another man and the the first accused, Juan Carlos, are standing trial for fraud.
Lawyer for Mr Twumasi Appiah, Josh Nimako, told the High Court hearing the case in Accra that the MP will pay back the money by close of day Friday.
Mr. Nimako, however, insists that the MP is innocent, adding that his client has never sold gold to any person.
“I believe that before we come to court the next time, this matter would have been settled,” he said.
Prosecutors say, despite his offer to refund the money, there are other charges Mr. Twumasi Appiah will need to answer to.
The MP and the other accused person have both been granted bail to reappear in court on the 18th of next month.
