AI Ghana recently held a human rights education seminar for Trainee-Teachers at the Holy Child College of Education in Takoradi, in the Western Region of Ghana. The theme for the seminar was “developing a human rights culture in Ghana; the role of the Teacher”.
The event aimed at helping the trainee-teachers to acquire relevant knowledge in human rights and also develop requisite skills for teaching human rights in all educational activities. It was a successful event - very participatory and interactive.
Signatures were collected from the students in support of our petition to the president of Chad to take measures and increase the protection of Sudanese Refugee Women and Girls in Eastern Chad. And a new group of Amnesty Students was formed in the College at the end of the event.
Many thanks to Augustine, Board Member for Western Region, for helping to organize the event and also for you presentation.
