Dormaa Ahenkro (B/A), Aug. 28, GNA - A circuit court at Dormaa Ahenkro has remanded Anane da Costa, a 60-year-old farmer, who allegedly murdered his 45-year-old wife, Miss Joyce Yeboah at Wamfie last Monday.
Anane admitted committing the crime when be appeared before the Court on Thursday and would re-appear on September 10.
He told the Court that he felt possessed by some "uncontrollable spirits" to kill the wife.
Police Chief Inspector Matthew Yeboah said the suspect and the deceased wife were married for 15 years and had six children.
In the night of August 24, while the wife was asleep in their bedroom at Wamfie, the suspect picked a kitchen knife and stabbed her on the neck without any provocation.
The Prosecutor said Anane realizing that the wife was dead bolted to an unknown destination but the next day he went to a nearby village and surrendered himself to one Kwame Alata, who being aware of the hunt for him, took him to the Police at Wamfie.
"To avoid reprisal and the possible lynching of the suspect the Police transferred him to Dormaa Ahenkro where he was processed and put before the court", Chief Inspector Yeboah said.
