Suhum (ER), June 26. GNA - The Suhum Kraboa Coaltar District Assembly and Zoomlion Ghana Limited undertook a clean-up exercise at the Suhum Township and its environs.
The Suhum District Supervisor of Zoomlion Ghana Limited, Mr Edward Otu-Gyankwafo told the GNA at Suhum that the exercise was to help clear refuse and human excrete in the area.
He said the company provided a grader and tipper trucks while the assembly made available tools for volunteers who took part in the exercise.
Mr Otu-Gyankwafo said Zoomlion would also sensitize the people on the need to keep their surroundings clean to avoid out break of epidemics.
He said the company had recruited 20 people under the National Youth Employment Programme (NYEP) to assist in the exercise.
Mr Out-Gyankwafo commended the newly appointed District Chief Executive, Mr Sammy Kwabi for taking steps to improve sanitation in the area.
