WAR COURT LAWYERS

WAR COURT LAWYERS

By Desmond Ayim-Aboagye

Those of us, who had followed history keenly and, meticulously, measured the affairs of the world for a long time have noted certain things that usually repeat themselves. Whenever a kingdom falls, there are several attempts to bring it back its past glories to life again. The immutable leader and his followers usually consider diverse methods. The leaders of this kingdom usually try to make certain campaigns in the neighbouring states just to show that their kingdom is still powerful and doing pretty fine. Reality becomes far to fetch. The current leader may change leadership by allowing his first born to take over the affairs of the several campaigns that the kingdom used to make. The authorities sometimes try to utilise marriage alliance by looking for another bride from these neighbours that they used to be popular among. But with these entire bold attempts, it usually appears that a fallen kingdom is a fallen kingdom. All manoeuvring to capture power back so that this kingdom shall obtain its past glories would be gone in the interim and gone also forever in reality. It is as if there is a powerful hand in the sky that is crushing this particular nation. If the inhabitants are unlucky, they shall be taken as slaves and be made to endure hardships for centuries. History always repeats itself!

The current affairs in the world seem to bring back certain cherished thoughts to many leaders of the world again. There is a belief that those old tactics that nations and their individual leaders in those days could boast and threaten the world about their power is back. But on the contrary, these events show the real end of these manipulative tactics or kingdom, and also the individual leaders' obsession with power, which they used to manipulate the world with. It shall never be the same old method again. The world has grown past these childish manners of ruling the affairs of nations that is, by confronting one another in physical battlefield. Instead of concentrating on threatening the inhabitants of the world, leader against leader, it would be better for these leaders to think meticulously about what lies ahead that is whether there is a revolution in the often. Judging by the fact that a theory is on the board and that history has shown that when that is the case, there is always someone prepared to experiment it or put them to use. Only time will tell. But we do not know whether it is the silent revolution or violent revolution that shall come. But if the case of violent revolution becomes a reality, it would only bring sorrow to this world and soon those that initiated it would be forgotten including their abortive or realised plans. Only the atrocities committed by them would be remembered. Silent revolution, on the other hand, is the ideal one since it is capable of accomplishing much and wrought wonders in the world. Apart from the fact that it does not cause harm to anybody in the world, not even a deadly mosquito, it would always be remembered and consequently the persons or person that initiated it would never be forgotten in history.

The New Modern Theory of War clearly states that there should be War lawyers with or without military backgrounds that should work together as a team with the Office of the War Representatives (OWR). These are the gentlemen who would represent their various countries as defence lawyers or prosecution lawyers to bring peace settlements in the War Courts. The men who had their specialisation in different fields of law shall be capable of accomplishing this job in no time. With their help the defence team or prosecution team would be able to plan very well how these cases would proceed and end in the war court. It has been said elsewhere that human beings usually become used to certain things and when they are confronted to relinquish them it becomes a problem. In the case of war and its relinquishment, it is obviously clear that what the world is doing is not the right thing. But just as a few people are gaining from something does not make the thing worth the case to keep it. It is the work of these men who employ the wisdom accumulated from centuries to deal with a problem to bring all wars that take place in the war court.

The War Law and Health Sector would also require that some specialisation of this field be made. This would mean that a new faculty at the universities should be established to train lawyers particularly to deal with or contribute to the handling of these cases in the War Courts. There are already scientists and lawyers who have these capabilities to initiate special training for these new students and to those who have specialisation in certain areas and would like to change to the new specialisation. Other professions related to these War Courts should be later made to undergo further studies or programmes to help them become prepared adequately to work with the World War Court Organisation. The work of War Psychiatrists, War Doctors, War Psychologists, and etc should be incorporated to give better training to these professional men who shall be helping the War Courts to function properly.

As these lawyers get prepared to learn and familiarise themselves with wisdom accumulated from the centuries to deal with the problem of wars in the present world, one thing which rightly comes to mind is about the mistakes made by leaders who had power in the distant past. To the new leaders of the world, it can be conveyed to them like this. There is no time to waste to discover that the world had been in turmoil for centuries due to the use of the same old tricks which were always engineered by very few people but had no opposition so atrocities reached its highest point in the last century. This old approach is outdated and it will not work. Any leader that pursues it will one day realise that it is over. In the past, it was discovered that cutlasses, bowls and arrows, spears, canon guns, mines, machine guns and other less powerful instruments had been used in war. When recently the atomic bomb was manufactured and used, it was only two countries that had it. Now many countries have access to this deadly weapon. For those who had not declared that they have access to it or had not developed it, it does not mean that they do not have it. This means that neither the USA nor Russia have a choice any longer to stand somewhere and says or issue command that we would be watching you very closely. The game is over, so the earlier you all agreed to let the right people, that is, the judiciary to take over, the better it would be for the world.

Therefore, there is the urgent need not to behave like children, thinking that the threatening words and confrontation will work in the present world. If you people hang on a little longer, neither of you would be recognised as a world leader any longer because certain countries would soon come forward that they also have the nuclear power. And the present states of affair make it such that any country that owns nuclear (irrespective of the size of the country) is a power itself that can cause a big damage to the world.

The best idea is that let us learn from our mistakes and also for the first time let us recognise and accept the fact that the old method of nations confronting each other on the battlefield will not work. A better method is the one presented in the New Theory of War where, we, as citizens of the world shall not give our precious lives into the care of individual madmen who can easily bring devastation to the earth.
