Reverend Monsignor Thomas Manu, Vicar-General of the Konongo-Mampong Catholic Diocese, has expressed concern about the spate of invocation of curses on people by aggrieved persons.

He said such an evil act being perpetuated by people including Christians had negative effects on humanity and it was time efforts were made to discourage people from such practices.

Addressing members of the Saint Anthony Catholic Church at Ejisu on the effect of curses, Monsignor Manu attributed the increasing rate of deaths and suffering to the invocation of curses and other evil spirits on people by aggrieved persons including Christians.

“Invocation of spirit is even condemned by traditionalists, then how come that Christians of today have started embracing it?” he asked.

He said he was surprised at the way even some prominent politicians were using invocation to defend their political statements.

Monsignor Manu advised Ghanaians, particularly Christians to put an end to such negative behaviour to make Christianity more attractive to others.
