Presidential and Parliamentary candidates vying for positions in the upcoming general elections will formally be recognized by the Electoral Commission (EC) after filing their nominations on the 16th and 17th of October 2008.
Even though the filing fee for both the presidential and parliamentary positions are yet to be fixed, the EC expect an upward adjustment.
Sarfo Kantanka Deputy Commissioner in charge of operations made this known after an Inter Party Advisory Committee meeting on Friday.
According to him the voter's exhibition exercise will be held from 12th-16th September at all the 21,000 polling stations for voter's to clean the register.
On October 5 the register will finally be opened to the general public, before the December 7 date for the much anticipated elections.
Meanwhile a total of 1.9 million eligible voters were believed to have been registered in the just ended limited registration exercise.
