THE OUT-GOING Libya Ambassador to Ghana, Mohammed Al Gamadi, has praised Ghana for taking an active stance with Libya on the unification agenda of the African Union (AU).
He mentioned in particular President Kufuor's role as the Chairman of AU, which he observed had brought refreshing ideas on board to nurture the dream.
The Ambassador made these known when he called on Vice President Alhaji Aliu Mahama at the Castle, Osu, to bid him farewell.
According to the Ambassador the only remedy to Africa's numerous problems was unity. He however commended Africa for becoming a model of security, transparency and accountability.
Ambassador Al Gamadi advocated the reactivation of the Ghana- Libya Joint Commission for co-operation to enable the two countries tighten their unity of purpose.
On his part, Alhaji Aliu Mahama lauded Libya for the zeal to mediate in conflicts in Africa.
He expressed Ghana's commitment to work with Libya in the realization of a united Africa, which he said was a dream to achieve in the shortest possible time.
In his observation, not much had been done in the area of trade and economy, and asked Libya to use its resources to push for trade and investment.By Sheilla Sackey
