Macedonian king Alexander the Great fought on the front lines side by side with his soldiers against Achaemenid king Dareios III; against an army which knew the territory much better than him and was larger in number. Yet, he was given the title „The Great“ in history for his bravery, readiness to stand by his men and put his life on the line, leading the Greeks to victory after victory.
