Pollster Mussa Dankwah has confirmed that he secured a government contract under the current administration but has denied claims that the contract was awarded through a sole-sourcing arrangement.
Mr Dankwah said the contract was awarded through a competitive tendering process, dismissing speculation circulating on social media, particularly among some members and supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
In a social media post responding to the claims, Mr Dankwah said he was surprised by the controversy surrounding the contract and maintained that he followed the required procurement process.
“Eii, so I have been trending for an alleged sole-source contract?
"Well, I am not aware of any sole-sourced contract. I submitted a tender and won and we have delivered on all project milestones while using my own money to pre-finance the project. I am still waiting to be paid.
"I don’t just accept any project; I ensure that I check the relevant boxes before saying yes. The work I delivered will have a significant impact on the future of the country’s youth and I am proud I led the team to deliver it. What is your contribution to this country?
"ALL reports have been delivered and engagement on the last is still ongoing. Proud to be associated with this project tother with my team,” he emphasised.
Mr Dankwah said his decision to undertake the project was based on its potential impact on Ghanaian youth and insisted that his team had met the agreed project milestones.
He also disclosed that the project had been pre-financed with his own resources and that he was still awaiting payment from the government.
The pollster maintained that he conducts due diligence before accepting projects and would not associate himself with arrangements that fail to meet the relevant requirements.
