Minority Leader and Member of Parliament for Effutu, Osahen Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has donated 100 brand-new laptops to newly posted teachers in the constituency under his "One Teacher, One Laptop" Initiative.
The donation is aimed at equipping teachers with digital tools to support teaching and learning while easing the transition of newly posted educators into their schools.
According to the Effutu lawmaker, the initiative forms part of his continued investment in education and efforts to improve educational outcomes in the constituency.
"Yesterday, I donated 100 brand-new laptops to newly posted teachers across the Effutu Constituency under my 'One Teacher, One Laptop' Initiative," Osahen Afenyo-Markin wrote in a social media post on Wednesday, August 5.
He disclosed that 79 of the beneficiaries were present to receive their laptops, while the remaining 21 will be presented with theirs when they assume duty at their respective schools at the start of the new academic year.
"This initiative forms part of my unwavering commitment to supporting education in the Constituency," he stated.
Osahen Afenyo-Markin has over the years undertaken a number of education-focused interventions in the Effutu Constituency, including payment of school fees for some tertiary students.
