Patrons at the 2026 Northern Business Fair in Tamale have praised the event as a powerful platform for showcasing Made‑in‑Ghana products, boosting local entrepreneurship and widening business opportunities across Northern Ghana.
On Day Two of the fair, crowds surged through the exhibition stands, sampling and purchasing a wide range of locally produced goods — from processed foods and beverages to fashion, cosmetics and other homegrown innovations.
Many visitors told Citi News they were impressed by the quality, packaging and affordability of the products, noting that buying directly from producers gave them confidence in the authenticity of the items while supporting local businesses.
Dr Ivy Tana said the fair had opened her eyes to the region’s cultural richness and creativity.
“I have seen a lot of things that are reflective of the culture here, so I am still going around to make my decision so I do not spend all my money here,” she said.
Another patron applauded the diversity of products on display and called for the fair to become a permanent fixture on the regional calendar.
“Coming here, we have had fun. There are a lot of exhibitions featuring products made in Tamale, which I am very proud of. I wish this will continue,” the patron said.
A third visitor said the fair had drawn them in after seeing it advertised on television.
“I heard about this programme on Channel One News at 8:00 p.m., and so we decided to have a look at what is going on. So far, we like the fair. I am glad it is happening here in Tamale because everything happens in Accra,” the patron said.
Visitors described the fair as a crucial opportunity for start‑ups and small businesses to showcase their products, attract new customers and build partnerships that could help them scale beyond the Northern Region.
They also urged Ghanaians to patronize locally made products, arguing that stronger support for indigenous industries would create jobs, strengthen local economies and contribute to national development.
The Northern Business Fair concludes on Sunday with exhibitions, networking sessions and investment engagements aimed at promoting entrepreneurship and driving enterprise growth across Northern Ghana.
