The Member of Parliament for Kumbungu Constituency, Prof. Hamza Adam, in collaboration with the District Chief Executive, Alhaji Yakubu Imoro Kakpagu, has donated 1,200 dual desks to the Ghana Education Service (GES) in the Kumbungu District to help address the persistent furniture deficit in schools.

The desks were officially handed over to the District Director of Education for distribution to basic schools across the district, in a move aimed at improving the learning environment for thousands of pupils.

The donation forms part of a broader commitment by the MP and the District Assembly to strengthen educational infrastructure and ensure that every child has access to a comfortable and conducive classroom setting.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Prof. Hamza Adam emphasized that education remains a key priority for the constituency, stressing that quality teaching and learning can only thrive when students are provided with the necessary resources and facilities.

Alhaji Yakubu Imoro Kakpagu also reaffirmed the Assembly's dedication to supporting initiatives that enhance educational outcomes, noting that investing in education is an investment in the future development of the district.

Receiving the desks on behalf of the Ghana Education Service, the District Director of Education expressed profound gratitude to the MP and the DCE for the timely intervention.

According to the Director, the donation will significantly ease the furniture challenges confronting many schools and provide relief to pupils who have had to endure inadequate seating arrangements.

The gesture has been widely welcomed by education stakeholders, who believe the additional desks will contribute to improved classroom participation, better concentration among pupils, and enhanced academic performance across the district.
